2. What Is SNKRDUNK? A Marketplace That Authenticates Before It Ships
SNKRDUNK (nicknamed “スニダン” in Japan) is a Japanese marketplace for sneakers, streetwear and trading cards. Individual and business sellers list items for buyers to purchase, and new and used items are sold side by side.
The biggest difference from an ordinary second-hand platform is that sellers do not ship directly to the buyer. After a sale, the item first goes to SNKRDUNK BASE, the platform’s logistics centre in Toyosu, Tokyo. There, SNKRDUNK’s authenticators check its authenticity and condition, and it ships only if it meets their standard. SNKRDUNK states that every item sold on the platform goes through this authentication process.
If you are buying high-value sneakers or rare cards, this adds platform authentication on top of checking seller ratings and studying photos yourself, as you would on an auction site.

Links from the international site (with “/en/” in the address) are not yet supported. If you find an item on the international site, search for the same item name on the Japan site and copy that link instead.
② Sizes are in centimetres, and each size has its own price
SNKRDUNK lists sneaker sizes in centimetres (cm), for example 26.5cm or 27cm, not in US or UK sizes. Each size is priced separately. Before submitting your order, make sure you have chosen the right size and checked it against the brand’s official size chart.
③ Know the difference between new and used, and check the condition grade
The same item page often lists both new and used (中古) items. Used items are graded by condition, from A+ and A down to B, C, D and E, and prices can differ a lot between grades. The page’s “売買履歴” (transaction history) shows past sale prices, which helps you judge whether the current asking price is reasonable.
④ Check the prohibited items before you order
Besides cards, sneakers and clothing, SNKRDUNK also sells categories such as game consoles and watches, and not all of these can be shipped through the Japan warehouse. Step 1
Go to the Buy&Ship website and click “Sign Up” in the top right to complete member registration.
Step 2
Go to the Proxy Shopping page, then click “Order Now” to create a proxy order.
Step 3
Copy the page link of the item you want from the SNKRDUNK Japan site, paste it into the “Create proxy order” box and click “Submit Proxy Request”.
Please use a Japan-site link (snkrdunk.com/…). Links from the international site (with “/en/”) are not yet supported.
Step 4
The item page URL, item name and image fill in automatically. Compare them with the SNKRDUNK page to check that the unit price (in yen) and quantity are correct, then click “Next”.
Step 5
If the item comes in different sizes or conditions, enter the size exactly as shown on SNKRDUNK in the “Size” field (for example 27cm), note whether you want new or a used grade under “Other information”, then click “Save”.
Each SNKRDUNK proxy order can include only one item. To buy several items, please create a separate order for each. When you are ready, click “Continue”.
Step 6
On the order confirmation page, enter promo code and click “Apply”. Check the fee breakdown, then click “Continue” to place your order. Once the order is confirmed, you can pay.
Step 7
